Editorial note: This resolution presents an irresponsibly
simplistic and one-sided view of a complex and nuanced
situation with clear guilt and grievances all around.
Once again Congress marches in virtual lock-step behind
a military solution. 352-21. At least poor Barbara Lee
wasn't all alone this time.
The Senate voted 94-2 in favor of a similar resolution
authored by Lieberman. Only Byrd and Hollings voted
no; Bennett, Helms, Torricelli and Bunning did not vote. -Peter
